American Street Dreams, Inc., located at 120 N Wood Street, here in Maroa, IL, brings a part of history back to Maroa.
On November 6, 2015, American Street Dreams Inc., (of Maroa, IL) won at auction, 4 of 6 nostalgic outdoor gas station signs. These signs were previously owned and displayed for the last 30 years at Norm Huff’s home, along the west side of Route 51 in Clinton, IL. The gas brands purchased by American Street Dreams, Inc. were DX, Gulf, Mobil and Texaco.
American Street Dreams, Inc. is a collector, vehicle restoration and Hot Rod shop, residing in Maroa for the last 17 years. In keeping with their theme, they purchased the 4 nostalgic signs, refurbished each with new wiring, painting the base structures and all new bulbs.
On January 12, 2016, the signs were erected in American Street Dreams, Inc.’s lot, just south of their main building, at 120 N. Wood Street, Maroa, IL. This is the same building and lot previously owned by the late Bob Linehart, of Maroa, IL, and is where he once owned and operated an Oliver Dealership, as well as, a Gulf Station. The Gulf sign that was installed in January, stands approximately 3 feet from where the original Gulf sign stood.
American Street Dreams, Inc.’s intentions are to restore the nostalgic theme of years gone by, and create awareness to a past era by bringing the Gulf sign back, as well as, to peek interest with the enhancement of all the signs while giving a drive by picture opportunity. You can view a video of the signs being installed online at: https://www.facebook.com/dreamcarscometrue
The signs look even better at night. Cruise by, take a look, and post your thoughts on the above
Facebook page. American Street Dreams, Inc. looks forward to hearing from you.
